Sightseeing …
We are in the Snowdonia National Park, renowned for its beauty and stunning views.
We are also near to the Mawddach estuary which has an RSPB reserve so, with the nearby mountains, it is ideal for bird watching whatever your level of knowledge of ornithology.
On the coast you'll find sandy beaches with rock pools but most of all glorious fresh air, stunning scenery and peace and quiet.
If you want to go sightseeing you'll find many attractions to keep you amused. We have the Talyllyn narrow gauge steam railway, the CAT (Centre for Alternative Technology) and the model village at Portmerion to name but three. You'll find their details but many others on our Local Attractions page.
For the more adventurous, GoApe at Coed y Brenin, pony trekking at Arthog and white water rafting at Bala, are only a short drive away.
Activities …
There is so much to do in the area you could park your car and forget about it.
There are numerous walks from our doorstep up into the hills or down to the nearby beach.
Catch the train (which only stops by request!) and enjoy one of the most exhilarating rides along the coast, across the estuary to nearby Barmouth which has a beautiful harbour and miles of golden sand.
In the other direction a short drive takes you to Tywyn which also has a wonderful beach, or you can walk along to the famous Aberdovey championship golf course
For our more active guests …
... there are innumerable activities on offer nearby including hill walking, climbing, mountain biking, rallying, sailing, sea and course fishing, golf, pony trekking, sand yachting and tennis.

Shopping and Food …
We have a local village shop and pub within about 300 metres of your door and within a few minutes drive or train ride there are several more local shops. The smaller chain supermarkets, such as the Co-op, Spar and Eurospar, are only about 20 minutes drive away.
If you would like us to organise a Welcome Pack (Bread, Milk, Tea, Coffee, Sugar) to be ready for you when you arrive, please ask.
Our nearest McDonalds is 40 miles away but there are at least 7 restaurants we can recommend within 20 minutes drive.
